Under 11 Cup Victory!
Home, News : Monday, May 10th, 2010

Congratulations are due to Paddy Healy and his fantastic under 11 team who won the Tom Coughlan Cup at the Oscar Traynor centre. They beat Darndale F.C. to lift the trophy. A proud day for all involved.

Under 11 Tom Coughlan Cup final.

Lusk United (A) 7 Darndale (B) 3

The village of Lusk came alive at 4pm last Monday as the triumphant under 11 Lusk United team returned with the Tom Coughlan cup.And the sound of car horns beeping was music to the ears of everyone as United proudly paraded the trophy around the town.

Manager Paddy Healy has certainly transformed this team’s fortunes since taking over and candy stripes played a terrific brand of football on the Oscar Traynor Road pitch.
On a surface that would do any League of Ireland venue proud, the two teams contributed to an outstanding game of football which saw Adrian Paszuska write his name in lights with a terrific hat-trick.
The lively number five was the outstanding performer after the break but this was by no means a one man show.
Lusk were on the offensive from the off with Patsuzska just off target with an effort shortly after the kick off.
But Lusk then scored off a Darndale kick out with Peter McLoughlin taking full advantage of an under hit clearance from the keeper to fire home from inside the box.
Darndale showed their character to respond with two tremendous goals but Lusk were not behind for long when Cormac Howley took a pass of McLoughlin before shooting past the keeper.
Darndale then saw a headed effort cleared off the line and then in the next attack Kyle Nolan took a pass from the impressive Killian Healy before dispatching the ball into the back of the net.
However Darndale drew level for the second time when a player shrugged off the attentions his marker before shooting past Eoin Gaffney.
Again though Darndale found it very hard to contain a Lusk team who looked likely to score with every attack.
And that they did when Howley beat the keeper with the deftest of touches after Healy had sent in a delightful cross from the right.
Patsuzska then scored off another break to leave it 5-3 at the break and with Enny Shabogan and Ryan Murphy sending in some delightful balls in to Lusk attack, Lusk pressed on after the break.
And again it was that man Patsuzska who did the business when he ran on to a delightful ball from Howley before finishing past the keeper.
However Darndale were not out of it by any stretch of the imagination with Gaffney pulling off a delightful save when tipping over an effort from the Darndale number 8.
And that proved to be the last throw of the dice for the North Dublin boys with a great run down the left from Patsuzska resulting a penalty for Lusk.
Patsuzska duly converted for a tremendous hat-trick to round off a terrific day for Lusk.

Lusk United: Eoin Gaffney, Nathan Marry, Nathan Harris, Ryan Murphy, Rory Hafford, Kyle Nolan, Adrian Patsuzska, Killian Healy, David Weir, Peter McLoughlin, Cormac Howley, Raivis Karolis, Enny Shabogan.
