Lusk United was founded in 1969. The idea of forming a club originated after a five a side competition held by some enthusiastic locals. Some of the locals involved in that historic event were Jimmy O’Hara, Dennis Hartford, Dick Dennis, Johnny Dennis and Seamus Carton to mention a few. Lusk United has had a very long and colourful association with the Leinster Senior League and Brenfer NDSL and in more recent years we have participated in the Amateur Football League. We currently provide coaching, training and soccer for over 150 individuals within the club ranging in age from 6 years to our over 35s both male and female. Last season was one of our most successful with league winners and runner ups in a number of the different age groups.
As we are all aware the village of Lusk has been transformed over the last couple of years and as a result has brought a lot of new people into the area and indeed our club has not been exempt from this influx, as a result we have more players, more parents and more new committee members all with a common goal in developing our club as a centre of football excellence in the North County area. All our work and achievements both on and off the pitch over the last few years have been largely due to the efforts of our volunteers, parents and players.
